Strengthening the Workforce, Empowering Caregivers
Accesso Care was founded to solve a growing crisis: healthcare facilities staffing shortages and the lack of support for immigrant caregivers.
Our Story
Accesso Care was born in 2023 out of a crisis in care. With over 15 years of work experience in long-term care facilities, Jimmy Zhang founded Building Care after witnessing CNAs leaving the profession in record numbers—exhausted, undervalued, and overworked. Facilities struggled to retain staff, and residents suffered from the instability. Something had to change.
In 2024, Jimmy’s partner, Dr. Esther Castillo, an immigrant and workforce development expert, joined the mission. As an immigrant herself, she understood the financial, cultural, and emotional barriers caregivers faced. Together, they transformed the organization into Accesso Care, a name that reflects access, opportunity, and dignity for immigrant caregivers.
Our Values
Dignity
We believe care work is essential—and those who provide it deserve respect, stability, and fair opportunities. We work to uplift the humanity of caregivers and ensure every person is treated with care and compassion.
Honesty
We build trust through truthfulness, transparency, and follow-through. We’re upfront about our processes, open about challenges, and committed to doing what we say we’ll do—for caregivers, partners, and the communities we serve.
Community
We believe community care is the antidote to burnout and isolation. At Accesso Care, community means mutual support, shared responsibility, and reciprocal care. We honor the diverse cultures and identities of immigrant caregivers while building trust and common ground across our broader network of partners and collaborators.
Our Approach: Rooted in Four Core Pillars
How we build a stronger, more dignified care workforce
We take the time to understand caregivers and workplaces, making intentional matches that honor culture, language, and lived experience.
Our caregivers represent 12 countries and speak 16 languages, allowing us to match teams with deep cultural awareness.
Culturally Competent, Relationship-Based Matching
We design every part of our program—from onboarding to mentorship—with retention in mind. This saves institutions money and improves continuity of care.

A well-supported workforce stays longer, reducing costs and improving patient outcomes.
Retention as a Strategy, Not Just a Goal
We don’t stop at job placement. Our team stays in touch through check-ins, support groups, bonding events, and resource sharing. By building community and offering real human connection, we help CNAs not just survive—but thrive.
So far, we’ve trained over 50 immigrant CNAs, with an 85% placement success rate and a growing network of long-term partners who return to us.
Ongoing Support for Long-Term Success
We remove barriers to CNA licensure, advocate for immigrant caregivers, and promote fair, inclusive workplaces. Our approach is grounded in equity and shaped by care—recognizing that systemic change happens through relationships, shared power, and deep collaboration.
Through partnerships with government agencies, nonprofits, and community leaders, we build cross-sector solutions that honor the dignity and humanity of those who provide care.
